Up in smoke

Up In Smoke (1978)

Cheech N’ Chong, the classic duo that re-established the stoner stereotype during the 70’s spread much laughter across the media. The movie “Up In Smoke” is their quintessential masterpiece. The adventures, laughter, drugs, and joy carry the audience on an epic journey.

The best scene in the movie is when Cheech (Richard Marin) and Chong (Tommy Chong) sit in Cheech’s car, smoke an enormous joint, having a hilarious conversation, and taking hotboxing to the next level. They made many subsequent sequels that follow the narrative of these stoners and various adventures they face.

This movie is probably the first mainstream stoner film in the history of mankind, definitely worth being included in your movie collection.

Fantasia

Fantasia (1940)

This Disney movie is a must for cannabis aficionados, due to its outlandish effects, otherworldly storyline, and old-school imagination. This film was released in 1940, hence it wasn’t intended for cannabis consumers because during the time marijuana was extremely stigmatized in the US..

However, it’s hard not to appreciate this film under the influence of sweet Mary Jane. Trippy fairies, characters, Mickey Mouse, shapes, patterns, mushrooms dancing, moving, and transforming through the power of classical music is something absolutely extraordinary. This movie is an explosion of colors and themes, perfect for couch-locked tokers.

Big Lebowski

Big Lebowski (1998)

His attitude is super chill and on point, even during the darkest hours. There’s a whole religious movement called “Dudeism” based on the spirit of the Dude.

Enter The Void(2009)

Enter The Void (2009)

This movie is great for cannabis consumers who like to contemplate over existence, death, and cool visual effects. This movie is quite deep. The plot surrounds the lead character Oscar, who moved to Japan, became a drug dealer, and finally got hold of some DMT.

The events are deeply intertwined with the narrative of the “The Tibetan Book of The Dead”, a book given to Oscar by his friend. There are many colorful and trippy effects, but it’s also a deeper movie that goes into memories, death, and afterlife. It’s a relatively long film, but it’s definitely recommended for all those that seek some interesting movie art that deviates from the Hollywood standards.

One of the main characters “Shorty” is played by Marlon Wayans. This character elevates the stoner stereotype to the next level. If the normal stoner stereotype is maximum 100% accurate, he elevates it to 420%.

This movie follows the “The Wayans Bros” style and is perfectly suited for cannabis-infused enthusiasts. Smoking bongs out of aquariums with killers, killing joints, killing victims, it’s all there.
