Torrijas cannabicas

French toasts, known in Spain as “torrijas”, are a Spanish dessert that became popular throughout the world. It is a very simple dessert which is traditional of the Easter holidays but can surely be enjoyed at any time of the year.

We only need a few ingredients and a few minutes to enjoy the delicious torrijas and you can also enjoy them with our special ingredient:
Cannabis!

The ingredients:

  • Bread stick (From the previous day)
  • 250 ml of cannabis milk
  • 2 or 3 eggs
  • 3 spoonfuls of sugar
  • One teaspoon of salt

Preparation:

First of all we have to chop the bread into slices with a thickness of approximately 1.5 – 2 cm.

Then we will prepare two bowls. In one of them we will mix the cannabis milk (we recommend that it is cold to prevent the bread from falling apart), some sugar and the egg yolks. And in the other bowl we will beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt.

Note: You may need more eggs depending on the amount of bread slices that you want to prepare.

Next we put oil or butter to heat in a pan.

Then we place the slices of bread to soak on both sides in the cannabis milk mixture. Once the slices are soaked we will let them drain without pressing them and we will soak them also in both sides in the second bowl where we will have the egg whites with the salt.

Once the oil is hot enough, place the previously battered bread slices in the cannabis mixture and fry them on both sides until they get a golden coloration. When they are ready, place them on a plate with kitchen paper so that the excess of oil can be properly absorbed.

We propose two options for the batter of your torrijas.

Option 1: Sugar

Place some sugar in a dish and coat the bread slices after they fried and drained.

While they are still hot, sprinkle them one by one with sugar, and with this you will obtain dry torrijas.

Option 2: You can also prepare a delicious syrup

It is very simple. You only have to place them in a sugar pot (with about 3 or 4 tablespoons) and at low heat just wait until the sugar to caramelize. Once you have it in the caramel point you just have to add a glass of water and let it boil for 5 minutes.

Then you only have to soak the torrijas with the syrup.

And then it is time to wait for them to cool down and enjoy the delicious cannabic torrijas.
