How to make homemade cannabis barbecue sauce

Barbecue sauce is one of the most famous and popular of all sauces. It is mainly used to accompany grilled or barbecued meat (chicken wings, ribs, beef burgers, etc.), but it is also used with vegetables, chips, pizzas, fish, amongst others.

BBQ sauce is a very versatile sauce that is quick and easy to prepare, plus you can choose to make a sweet version or, if you like it hot and spicy, you can add a splash of Tabasco.

Here’s the recipe for our own version: cannabis barbecue sauce.

Do you fancy giving it a try?

Ingredients for cannabis barbecue sauce

  • 2 spring onions or chives
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 200 g of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of sweet or hot paprika
  • 2 tablespoons of Lea & Perrins (or Worcestershire) sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of marijuana olive oil.
  • Ground black pepper and salt
  • Optional: 7–8 drops of Tabasco

Preparation of marijuana barbecue sauce

First wash the spring onions, then remove the green part and dice the rest.

Place the diced spring onions in a frying pan with a little olive oil over a medium heat, add a pinch of salt and fry until they are tender and translucent. Careful, don’t cook them until they turn golden brown.

When you notice the spring onions are nearly ready, add the brown sugar and stir with a spoon for a few minutes until the spring onions are completely caramelised.

Now add the chopped tomatoes (or alternatively tomato sauce) and stir for a few more minutes.

The last step is to add the remaining ingredients: honey, paprika (sweet or hot, according to preference), Lea & Perrins sauce, ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, vinegar, marijuana olive oil, ground black pepper and salt.

Note: Remember, if you like hot and spicy barbecue sauce, you can add a few drops of Tabasco.

Give everything a thorough stir until all the ingredients have blended together, then cook over a low heat for 2 minutes. Don’t forget to stir your cannabis barbecue sauce from time to time to stop it from sticking.

Try it and correct the taste until the sauce is just how you like it.

All done! Your scrumptious cannabis barbecue sauce is ready to improve an infinite number of dishes.
