The supposed difficulty of a cannabis-based dish may scare amateur cooks. In order to break this cliché, we propose an original, delicious and above all easy recipe: cannabis pesto. It goes perfectly with your pasta, pizzas, canapés, etc. We will explain the step-by-step preparation and suggest some suggestions for using marijuana pesto.
This recipe is based on the classic Italian pesto (basil, pine nuts, pecorino and parmesan), with a cannabis touch.
Ingredients for 4 people
- 50 gr fresh basil
- 70 gr grated Parmesan cheese
- 30 gr Pecorino cheese
- 2-3 garlics
- 15 gr pine nuts
- 100 ml de olive oil with cannabis.
- Juice of 1/2 lemon, salt and pepper
These ingredients are a guideline because pesto is a sauce that can be adapted to suit everyone’s taste.
Traditionally the sauce is prepared in a mortar but, if you like it more liquid, you can use a blender.
Let’s start by grinding the garlic, salt and pepper in the mortar. Add the pine nuts and grind again. Once this base is obtained, add basil, lemon juice, cannabis oil, parmesan and pecorino. Grind and mix until a paste is obtained. Vary the amount of Cannabic oil to suit your taste.

As we told you earlier, pesto is an ideal accompaniment to your pasta and pizzas, but it is also a base for many Cannabic dishes.
Variations on cannabis pesto:
- Red pesto: add some dried tomatoes (or cherry tomatoes) to the same base as above.
- If you don’t like basil, try to use spinach, sorrel or fresh coriander.
