Grow diary Jack 47 Auto® de Sweet Seeds®

Grow diary Jack 47 Auto®, a third generation, autoflowering strain. The result of crossing Jack Herer auto from the Sweet Seeds® R&D department and our elite AK 47 clone. Probably one of the most potent autoflowering strains on the market.

It produces very high yields with abundant, compact buds that are full of resin. The aromas and flavours are sweet, fresh, lemony and with a hint of incense.

Weeks 1 and 2 – Vegetation

Cultivation conditions:

  • Size of pot: 12 L.
  • Light: 24 hours LED (200 W).
  • Temperature: 26ºC.
  • Air humidity: 60%
  • pH: 6.4

Nutrients:

  • 1 ml/l G.O. Thrive Grow
  • 1 ml/l Startbooster
  • 1 ml/l Regulator

This is my first grow diary!

I grew four plants in an 80x80x180 cm cabinet using 12 L AIR POTS. I applied the LST (low-stress training grow technique. The LST technique involves carefully bending the young plants’ branches and fixing them in position so they grow horizontally outwards. This generates more room for new shoots to develop and therefore increase the cultivation’s productivity.

I gave them 24 hours of light per day, the temperature was 26 °C, air humidity was controlled at 60% and the pH at 6.4.

Week 3 – Vegetation

Cultivation conditions:

  • Size of pot: 12 L.
  • Light: 24 hours LED (200 W).
  • Temperature: 26ºC.
  • Air humidity: 60%
  • pH: 6

Nutrients:

  • 6 ml/l G.O. Thrive Grow
  • 1.2 ml/l Startbooster
  • 1 ml/l Regulator
  • 1 ml/l CaMg-Boost

Here you can see how my four plants are progressing, they are growing nicely and developing new leaves.

Week 4 – Vegetation

Cultivation conditions:

  • Size of pot: 12 L.
  • Light: 24 hours LED (200 W).
  • Temperature: 26ºC.
  • Air humidity: 50%
  • pH: 6.4

Nutrients:

  • 8 ml/l G.O. Thrive Grow
  • 1.5 ml/l Startbooster
  • 1 ml/l Regulator
  • 1.5 ml/l CaMg-Boost

By day 24 the main head is starting to grow again.

The nutrients are dissolved in 5 litres of water and distributed to all four plants.

Weeks 5 and 6 – Flowering

Cultivation conditions:

  • Size of pot: 12 L.
  • Light: 20 hours LED (200 W).
  • Temperature: 28ºC.
  • Air humidity: 47-55%
  • pH: 6.5

Nutrients:

  • 5 ml/l G.O. Thrive Grow
  • 1.5 ml/l Startbooster
  • 1 ml/l Regulator
  • 1.5 ml/l CaMg-Boost
  • 2 ml/l Topbooster
  • 2.5 ml/l P-Boost
  • 1 ml/l Fulvic blast

The daily watering schedule consisted of all the nutrients dissolved in 5 L of water. This week I changed the lighting to 20 hours of light and 4 hours darkness. I carried out a bit of LST and defoliated in the centre of the cultivation.

You can see the plants are thriving.

Week 7 – Flowering

Cultivation conditions:

  • Size of pot: 12 L.
  • Light: 20 hours LED (200 W).
  • Temperature: 28ºC.
  • Air humidity: 40%
  • pH: 6.5

Nutrients:

  • 1.3 ml/l Melaza
  • 5 ml/l G.O. Thrive Grow
  • 1 ml/l Regulator
  • 1.5 ml/l CaMg-Boost
  • 2 ml/l Topbooster
  • 2 ml/l K-Boost
  • 1 ml/l Fulvic blast

The plants have now grown to height of 40 cm. Some leaves have turned yellow and have spots on, but the small leaves generally appear healthy. As this is my first grow tracking, I am learning a lot.

Week 8 – Flowering

Cultivation conditions:

  • Size of pot: 12 L.
  • Light: 20 hours LED (200 W).
  • Temperature: 28ºC.
  • Air humidity: 45%
  • pH: 6.5

Nutrients:

  • 1.3 ml/l Melaza
  • 10 ml/l G.O. Thrive Grow
  • 1 ml/l Regulator
  • 1.5 ml/l CaMg-Boost
  • 2 ml/l Topbooster
  • 2 ml/l K-Boost

The buds look great, I cut off some of the fan leaves to let more light reach the lower portions of the plants. The trichomes look cloudy, so I am close to the end.

Week 9 – Flowering

Cultivation conditions:

  • Size of pot: 12 L.
  • Light: LED(200W) 20 horas.
  • Temperature: 28ºC.
  • Air humidity: 50%
  • pH: 6.5

Nutrients:

  • 1.3 ml/l Melaza
  • 10 ml/l G.O. Thrive Grow
  • 1 ml/l Regulator
  • 1.5 ml/l CaMg-Boost
  • 2 ml/l Topbooster
  • 2 ml/l K-Boost

Everything is going well, I even tried some of the smaller buds from last week and they were superb; I will harvest on day 65.

Week 10 – Harvest

On day 65 I decided to cut down my plants. I left them to dry for 5 days and then cured them for 2 more days. They have a strong fresh pine smell. I got a dry yield of 266 g from the four plants.

  • Plant 1: this was bulky, yielded around 70 g – fruity
  • Plant 2: 68g – Pine
  • Plant 3: my favourite! 67 g, provided good growth – pine
  • Plant 4: 61g.

The LST technique worked well. The overall taste is 70% pine and 20% incense, with a slight fruity (5%) and minty (5%) touch. The effect is really good, it can be very strong at first.

Final result:

  • Number of plants grown 4
  • Taste: pine, spicy
  • Dry weight: 266 grams.
  • Positive effects: euphoric, hungry and sleepy.
  • Negative effects: dry eyes and mouth.
