Sweet Mandarine Zkittlez XL Auto®️: Growth

After ensuring a clean and prepared environment, along with the selected fertilizers, I submerged the 9 seeds in a glass of water, positioning it in a warm area for 24 hours. Following this crucial step, aimed at hydrating the seeds and softening their shells, I transferred them to moistened kitchen paper, which I then placed inside a container. Once more, I left them in a warm location and witnessed a 100% germination rate the following day. Employing this method, coupled with the assurance of Sweet Seeds® seeds, renowned as the best in the market, guarantees success. At most, one might need to exercise patience for an extra day, but ultimately, every seed sprouts.

In just over two days, the plants were transplanted into 1/2-litre pots, where they exhibited robust development for approximately 12 days. At this juncture, I made the decision to transplant them into 20-litre pots and completed the whole cycle in them.

By the 25th day, the plants showcased a luxuriant development, with an intense green leaf color, though not overly dark. Throughout this phase, the EC levels never surpassed 1.2. In each watering session, maximum doses of root stimulator were provided, A+B was provided in the mildest dosage, and a specially formulated Boost for Coco was also used. Alongside these measures, there was a weekly application of potassium soap to ward off pests, effectively catering to the needs of this splendid strain from the Sweet Seeds® genetic collection during the growth period. The initial pistils were already making an appearance, signaling the onset of the pre-flowering phase.

At this stage, the intensity of the LEDs were increased, transitioning from 30% to 60%. Simultaneously, the extraction flow was also augmented, taking in consideration that increased foliage implies higher CO2 demand. Temperature maintenance was meticulous, consistently falling within the optimal range – between 19 ºC with the lights off and 25 ºC with the LEDs on. The entire experience unfolded with a light cycle of 18/6, from germination to harvest.

Sweet Mandarine Zkittlez XL Auto®️: Flowering

After 28 days from the appearance of the cotyledons, the 9 plants exhibited perfect conditions, displaying remarkably uniform development. Growing Sweet Seeds® genetics is a delight due to their simplicity, enabling us to concentrate on finer details and, concurrently, economize time and expenses on remedies.

As the flowering phase approached, adjustments to the routines became imperative. On one hand, alterations in fertilization were required, and, on the other hand, fine-tuning the indoor climate became essential.

The plants received the maximum A+B dose from the onset of flowering until the 6th week. Subsequently, the dosage was reduced by almost half, introducing PK 13/14 to achieve EC levels of 2.2. Near the conclusion of the 7th week, fertilizer application ceased. A root wash was performed with the use of a flushing agent to hasten ripening and cleanse the substrate of nutrients, compelling the plants to draw from the reserves stored in their leaves.

The outcome was spectacular, with all plants adopting autumn-like hues, and the air filled with delightful sweet and citrus fragrances.

The harvest of Sweet Mandarine Zkittlez XL Auto®️

All the plants flourish with an abundance of trichomes and the dense and robust buds deliver highly suggestive aromas. The plant’s structure is particularly beneficial during the drying phase due to its minimal foliage, facilitating a swift manicuring process. For the same reason, you’ll observe that nearly 100% of the leaves are usable for extractions or in the preparation of cannabis butter.

Taste and aroma

The initial impression evokes the aromatic sensation of peeling an orange. Upon further exploration, subtle undertones of pine and wood come to the forefront.
