Gorilla Girl® Grow Diary

Gorilla Girl®
Gorilla Girl® Grow Diary

Gorilla Girl® is the resulting hybrid from the cross between Gorilla Glue and Girl Scout Cookies. It features a very powerful effect due to its high THC levels, which range between 20-25%. It features high production of resin, trichomes, and a very intense aroma with cypress tones, a hint of wood and citrus and earthy touches.

Week 1 – Growth

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 20 hours LED OVNI (50W)
  • Temperature: 32Cº
  • Air humidity: 75%
  • Pot size: 0.25 L

Gorilla Girl® is here! I had to choose between Girl Scout Cookies and Gorilla Glue, so to avoid any frustration I have chosen the best of both options: Girl Scout Cookies x Gorilla.

In the first images we can see how the seedling easily gets out of its “shell” and is now thriving. The shell is broken very quickly. Germination was completed in 48 hours. Very good vigor so far.

Week 2 – Growth

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 20 hours LED OVNI (50W)
  • Temperature: 28Cº
  • Air humidity: 83%
  • Pot size: 3 L

Day 9: Considerable changes have been observed since last week. There are already 2 nodes and the plant is working on the third one. I expect to have a tall plant soon.

Day 11: The plant is now in a 3 litre pot so that it can develop a good root system that allows me to start topping it soon.

Week 3 – Growth

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 20 hours LED OVNI (50W)
  • Temperature: 28Cº
  • Air humidity: 83%
  • Pot size: 3 L

Day 16: The plant is doing quite well in its new 3 litre pot, so I can say it looks very vigorous.

I think it will need another pot in about 1 or 2 weeks. I did not feed it yet because I think there are enough nutrients in the soil for this stage.

Day 20: The roots settled very well in the 3L pot. They already touched the bottom of the pot, so I switched to a 7L pot with the same soil (TKS 2 from FloraGard).

Week 4 – Growth

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 20 hours LED OVNI (50W)
  • Temperature: 28Cº
  • Air humidity: 83%
  • Pot size: 7 L

Day 22: The plant height is 20 cm and it looks very healthy.

Day 28: The growth is correct, I made a type of supercroping. First I wanted to “pinch” the last node, but I performed it with excessive strength and the stem is falling at 90°.

Week 5 – Growth

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 20 hours LED OVNI (50W)
  • Temperature: 28Cº
  • Air humidity: 83%
  • Pot size: 7 L

Day 33: The plant is already showing side branches. I tried to perform supercroping, so we will see how the plant reacts. I keep using only tap water because the pre-fertilized soil provides enough nutrients until the transplant to the final pot.

Week 6 – Growth

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 20 hours LED OVNI (50W)
  • Temperature: 28Cº
  • Air humidity: 83%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Day 38: I watered the plant and transplanted it into a new 14 litre pot. As you can see, the root system is healthy with plenty of roots. I also used a cable to keep the supercroping low while I also broke the main stem a bit.

Week 7 – Growth

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 20 hours LED OVNI (50W)
  • Temperature: 28Cº
  • Air humidity: 83%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Day 44: It is important to understand that when using the right soil, there is no need to add more fertilizer. My Gorilla Girl® is still under a 50w LED light.

Day 47: The plant will be ready for the flowering stage in two days

Week 8 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Temperature: 28Cº
  • Air humidity: 75%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Nutrients used:

  • 10 ml/l Hybrids Powder
  • 5 ml/l Calcium

Day 51:The plant is outdoors since day 48 and now it will start to stretch. It shows a beautiful structure, but I broke the vertex on the right side 2 days ago (I will try to clone it even knowing that the vertex is not the best part of the plant for a successful cloning). I hope it makes the right side thicker than the left.

Still no feeding, only water.

Day 52: 2L feeding with Hybrids Powder + Calcium to promote stretching.

Week 9 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 73 cm
  • Temperature: 30Cº
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Nutrients used:

  • 10 ml/l Hybrids Powder
  • 5 ml/l Calcium

Day 57: This wonderful Gorilla Girl® already reached to 73 cm in height. It has been developing as a champion, although I hope it remains below 90 cm.

Day 62: The plant is much taller than 3 days ago and the pistils are already visible. The clone is still in the vegetative stage, but I checked it and it already has roots, so the next generation is ready.

Week 10 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 73 cm
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Nutrients used:

  • 1 ml/l Mr B’s Green Trees Bloom

Day 65: The pistils are coming out everywhere and it has a strong structure with quite hard stems, but not so “big”.

The cutting is also fully rooted and will soon be transplanted to a 3 litre pot.

Day 67: Gorilla Girl® keeps growing vertically.

Week 11 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 73 cm
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Nutrients used:

  • 1 ml/l Mr B’s Green Trees Bloom

Day 71: The plant is entering the fourth week of flowering and it means that more nutrients should be used.

Day 72: The plant already reached to 101 cm in height.

Week 12 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 101 cm
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Nutrients used:

  • 1 ml/l Mega Crop

Day 79: This week begins with a 1.8 Ec MegaCrop feed to keep it organic. The smell is discreet but powerful.

The buds are swelling and the production of trichomes is one of the best I have ever seen so far.

Week 13 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 101 cm
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Day 89: Gorilla Girl® absorbs so much water that it has received 3 litres between the last watering and today.

In the last watering the plant received 4 litres of water mixed with Hybrids Powder + MegaCrop + PK powder.

Week 14 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 101 cm
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Nutrients used:

  • 1 ml/l Mr.B’s Bloom
  • 1 ml/l Calcium

Day 92: The plant is swelling and it already features a chocolate aroma, very probably because of its lineage coming from GSC (Girl Scout Cookies).

Week 15 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 101 cm
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Nutrients used:

  • 1 ml/l Mr.B’s Bloom
  • 1 ml/l Calcium

Day 100: Strong and powerful smell, with a good proportion of trichomes.

Day 102: I noticed that some trichomes were purple as well as a part of the plant. I already saw that phenomenon in the GSC, so I bet that this color is due to its GSC lineage.

Now my goal is to cut it when some purple tones become visible in the buds.

Week 16 – Flowering

Grow parameters:

  • Light: 12 hours
  • Height: 101 cm
  • Air humidity: 62%
  • Pot size: 14 L

Day 106: The smell is very strong and deep. It is a mix between Kush, chocolate and a touch of coffee.

Week 17 – Cosecha

Gorilla Girl® is an easy-to-grow plant, from germination to harvest.

If you have a limited growing space, it is a variety that should be controlled during its vegetative stage, since it will easily grow two to three times its height before changing its photoperiod to 12/12 h.

In total, the plant needed 9 weeks of flowering to obtain a top quality crop.

Its flavor is reminiscent of a powerful Kush with earthy and mint chocolate aromas. It also features a powerful and long lasting effect.

Final results:

  • Number of harvested plants: 1
  • Taste: Chocolate, earth and mint.
  • Dry weight: 81 grams.
  • Positive effects: Relax and sleepy.
  • Negative effects: Dry eyes and dry mouth.
